Outrage In Lubbock As Former Car Dealer Charged With Theft
LUBBOCK, Texas - 41-year-old Joshua Weston, manager of Adobe Auto Sales from 2016 until 2024, has been accused of stealing more than $200,000 from the car dealership. Weston was charged with theft and embezzlement, criminal mischief, and the fraudulent use or possession of identifying information.
What We Know
Weston is accused of stealing the money in several different ways. He was in charge of the company's Facebook page and received a reimbursement from Facebook advertising of $158,005.64, according to court records. The money was paid directly into his account, rather than to the company, as he was the only person with access to the company's Facebook page. Essentially, the dealership paid for advertising from its bank account, but the reimbursement was not paid to the company; instead, it was paid to Weston.

Records show that Weston stole an additional $55,106.57 after he resigned. He is also accused of owing $6000 from an employee loan that was never repaid.
Weston Tried To Be Sneaky
To make matters even worse for himself, Weston purposefully deleted the Facebook account for Adobe Auto Sales, which the company valued at approximately $252,000, based on its average worth to the business. The page made $1,500 per month in revenue over the last 14 years, containing years of customer data and advertising content, as well as valuable business history. None of the page was backed up, and deleting the account could have wiped out critical evidence of his crimes, something he was likely trying to hide by getting rid of it.

Lubbock is NOT Amused
Much like the Bart Reagor scandal that rocked the community and left customers reeling, Lubbock residents have taken to Facebook to voice their displeasure with yet another naughty local car salesman. Here are a couple of comments I found below a post by Lubbock County Mugshot that give you an idea of how people in the community feel about Weston right now.
"They gave me a f***** up car. I tried to voluntarily give it back they said they can't do that unless it was 3 months behind. So I took the insurance off of it and parked it in a place that will be towed. I told them they had 24 hours to pick it up before it got towed. A few months later, I got an apology letter from them stating that it would be on my credit as a zero balance."
"Oh woooooooow a 2nd one? Man... who would've thought? Total trustworthy people."
"Did he take lessons from the Reagor team?"
"Better keep investigating the Lubbock area. Place is wild with fraud and theft."
