Walk Around South Plains Mall

I love walking laps around South Plains Mall when it's very hot outside. Not only is there plenty to see and do, but I can also purchase a drink and get my steps in safely and comfortably.

Museum at Texas Tech

The museum always has free admission and wonderful exhibits to enjoy. I love exploring the paintings, scultpures and other art objects on display. Additionally, the museum always has rotating exhibits, so there's always something new.

Lubbock Adult Activity Center

Located at 2001 19th Street, the Lubbock Adult Activity Center is for seniors looking for community, activities, and, if needed, a place to cool off.

Splash Pads For The Littles:

There are three Lubbock splash pads to keep kids cool while having summer water fun. However, parents, please keep yourself safe in the heat! Here are the splash pad locations and times:

  • Maxey Splash Pad
      • Address: 4020 30th St
      • Hours: Thursday–Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Wednesday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM 

  • Rodgers Splash Pad
      • Address: 3200 Bates St
      • Hours: Wednesday–Monday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Tuesday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM 

  • Mae Simmons Splash Pad
    • Address: 1301 E 24th St
    • Hours: Friday–Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Thursday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
