Lubbock Man Accused of Sexually Abusing Girl Since She Was 6-Years-Old
A Lubbock man, 44-year-old Stephen Shellhammer, was arrested on Thursday, April 22nd for aggravated sexual assault of a child.
KAMC News reports that Shellhammer has been accused of sexually abusing the girl, whose identity will not be released publicly, since she was around 6-years-old. The girl's current age wasn't indicated in reports, and Shellhammer's relation to the girl is unknown.
Some of the specific things Shellhammer is accused of doing to the girl include making her watch him as he touched himself inappropriately, making her watch pornography on his phone, forcing her to touch him inappropriately, and using a sex toy to touch her inappropriately. The girl said that she tried to refuse these advances, but Shellhammer went through with them regardless.
This allegedly happened quite frequently, as the girl told investigators it happened "all the time." She also said "It makes me sad. It hurts my heart."
Apparently, these incidents happened as recently as February of 2021. Lubbock County Sheriff's Deputies received a report concerning these incidents in March 2021.
A judge signed the warrant for Shellhammer's arrest the morning of Thursday, April 22nd, and he was arrested just a few hours after. He remains in the Lubbock County Detention Center on bonds totaling $200,000.
