On Tuesday, December 15th, 2020, a Lubbock man was sentenced to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to indecency with a child under the age of 14.

KAMC News reports that in July 2019, a Lubbock County Sheriff's Deputy responded to an unknown location for a report of sexual assault. The victim's mother told the officer that her children were attending a counseling session, and that one of her daughters said she may have been the victim of sexual assault.

The eldest daughter said that on June 18th, 2019, her younger sister was touched inappropriately by 44-year-old Jason Bridgeman (pictured above) while she was sleeping. When confronted, Bridgeman allegedly played it off as having been a dream.

Bridgeman, who was living at the residence with the victims, was removed, and a safety plan by CPS was put in place.

Afterward, the victim was interviewed about the incident, saying Bridgeman had put his hands down her pants two or three times while she was asleep.

Bridgeman was contacted for an interview as well, but didn't come initially because he claimed to have pink eye. However, after rescheduling, he still did not show for the interview and did not answer calls from officers for four straight days. Officers then decided to charge him with indecency after considering the inconsistencies in the victim's story, her body language when asked about the incidents, and Bridgeman's refusal to cooperate.
