Lubbock Mugshot Page Goes Viral For Praising Sobriety in The Hub

Do you follow Lubbock County Mugshots on Facebook? It's a local page that's become incredibly popular with over 115,000 followers. They post mugshots of the daily arrests in town and let the public do a little good old-fashioned shaming.

It may seem mean to kick someone while they are down by making fun of their mugshot or their situation on a public forum, but, it's also a great way to get someone to chill out and act right. It's embarrassing for everyone you know to drag you through the dirt in the comment section, and it turns out, the online humiliation has actually helped lead some local criminals to a better way of life.

Some of those formerly arrested have been sharing their old mugshots alongside a photo of the person they are today, and it's been really inspiring to see how much love and praise everyone is getting for taking their life in a new and better direction. It's awesome to watch people in our community build each other up and virtually high-five each other for choosing sobriety and a different way of life.
