Lubbock Police Arrest Father and Son for Murder
Lubbock Police have arrested two suspects believed to be involved in the Wednesday murder (Sept. 12) of 36-year-old Gabriel Rodriguez.
Police have arrested the father and son: 49-year-old Abel Rosales Sr., and his son, 22-year-old Abel Rosales Jr.
The fatal shooting occurred just after 7 p.m. at a home in the 2800 block of Baylor Street. When police arrived, they found Gabriel Rodriguez and 34-year-old Elias Rodriguez with injuries.
Gabriel was taken to University Medical Center with gunshot wounds where he later died. Elias was also taken to UMC, but with a head injury. He was later released.
Authorities learned of a dispute between the two brothers and the two suspects. Police arrested Abel Rosales Sr. and Jr. on Friday afternoon (Sept. 14) at separate locations. Rosales Jr. was arrested around 1 p.m. at a Stripes store near North University and North Loop 289. Shortly after, Rosales Sr. was arrested at a home in the 3000 block of Cornell Street.
Both were booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center, according to the Lubbock Police Department.
The case remains under investigation by Lubbock Police.
