The Lubbock Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who is wanted on charges of assaulting an officer.

Police say that on December 29th, 2017, an officer who was on patrol in the area of 2800 block of Cornell noticed a male walking in the area that matched the description of a suspect in a stalking case. The officer stopped the male and asked him some questions, but the male got agitated and hostile. The officer attempted to handcuff the male, but he broke free and assaulted the officer.

The officer then called for assistance, but by the time other officers had arrived, the male was gone.

If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of this male, call the Crime Line at 741-1000.
