Police are investigating to a reported break-in that occurred this weekend at a post office in Central Lubbock.

Investigators say the break-in occurred between 7 p.m. Saturday night and 6 a.m. Sunday morning at the Murryhill Post Office at 4811 Louisville Avenue, which functions as a mail holding facility.

Police say someone broke into the building and stole cash, numerous packages, and forced open a vending machine. They also tried to gain access to a safe but were unsuccessful.

A special investigator for the Postal Inspector’s Office is working alongside the LPD to investigate the break-in.
