On Saturday, July 25th, Lubbock Public Library made a post to social media that's been shared hundreds of times. The curious nature of the item they're allowing people to check out caught our attention.

It actually makes complete sense when you think about it. How many times do you use a Mickey Mouse or Texas-shaped cake pan? Once, maybe twice in a lifetime would be my bet. So this move by Lubbock Public Library to allow citizens to check-out cake pans for a week at a time is actually quite brilliant.

Think about it: pick up a book on how to bake or decorate a cake, and voila -- there's a special cake pan mold to go with your book.

Kudos to the minds behind this initiative.
