Picture this: It's 100 years in the future, and historians are trying to piece together the story of West Texas. What kind of artifacts do you think will hold up as proof that Lubbock was nothing less than one-of-a-kind?

A Very Lubbock Exhibit

Forget about the silly Declaration of Independence and moon rock collections—what the Smithsonian really needs is more LUBBOCK. I'm thinking stuff like a Buddy Holly Avenue street sign, or maybe even a Whataburger orange table tent, or, hell, a tumbleweed preserved in a jar!

My Ideas

So, let's get to it. Here's what I propose we throw in the Smithsonian 100 years from now to honor this ever-so-important era in Lubbock, Texas:

10 Lubbock Items Most Likely To End Up in The Smithsonian in 2125

Will these items be marveled at by scholars in 2125? Probably not. But maybe we can do some marveling of our own in the afterlife. Nothing like taking a scope at the goings on down below and catching a curator squinting at an Allsups chimichanga wrapper like it's the Rosetta Stone or something.

One thing is for certain: if Lubbock is remembered a century from now, it will be for being a place that was anything but boring. These artifacts will prove that we, in fact, lived, laughed, loved, and survived the gosh darn wind.

Got Any Suggestions?

What else do you think represents Lubbock? I'd love to hear from you! Drop your ideas in the comments or email me at Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com. Maybe I'll throw them onto the list...

If you want to get into heaven, you have to follow this tailgating code in Lubbock. I'm sorry. I don't make the rules, but your salvation depends on them.

Statistically speaking, all lottery numbers are created equal, right?

Wrong.

With random chance comes randomness, and these numbers have all proven to be duds time after time., according to Justgamblers.com
