"How'd Ya Wind Up Here?" is the sort of question that comes up when you're making small talk with a stranger at the bar. We've all got a story to tell, and no two are exactly alike.

Did you roll into town starry-eyed and stoked for your first semester at Texas Tech, or were you dragged here kicking and screaming by your wife to be closer to the in-laws? Whatever the case, you're here, and we're happy to have you!

I asked Lubbock residents to tell me how they wound up here, and I was overwhelmed by just how many people were excited to share their Lubbock origin story with me. (Thank you!) It's neat to see how different and similar our stories are to one another. We all have much more in common with our neighbors than we realize.
