Several residents have spotted a deer (or more than one?) roaming the streets of Lubbock and looking quite lost. 48th and Gary isn't usually a hot spot for deer sightings...and neither is 81st and Vernon... 57th and Hartford...or anywhere else that isn't near an open field.

It's unusual, and the uptick in local Facebook posts about random deer around town indicates that one or several could need your help to get back to where they belong.

Check out a few of the many public Facebook posts from the past few weeks:

If you have, your reaction was probably similar to reactions people had in this video posted by KCBD back in 2022, when a buck was seen running down the sidewalk between Frankford and Chicago...

We are NOT used to seeing them in the city...haha.

If you spot a deer in the wrong part of town, you can have it safely and humanely relocated somewhere outside of the city limits. If you're curious about how it works, check out the video below from 2018 that gives insight into the relocation process.

The deer around town are probably just as confused as we are. If you a deer in distress or way out of place, call (806) 775-3357 for the City of Lubbock Animal Services or (806) 761-4930 for Texas Parks & Wildlife.

If you've seen one, tell me where in a comment on this article, then keep scrolling for more Lubbock-based news in the galleries below...
