If you are like me, your top priority when attending the fair is the incredible local food booths. I believe I got a photo of every local food booth this year, if you want to plan ahead for your culinary adventure.

Local Food Is Local Dollars For Our Community

Not only do you get to enjoy delicious food, but you can also enjoy the warm, fuzzy feeling of knowing that you are supporting a major source of fundraising for area nonprofits. For many nonprofits, this is the only fundraising they do all year long, and because of West Texas's incredible support, it's enough to fuel their missions. From the South Plains Fair website:

Approximately 80% of the money spent at the Fair remains in Lubbock. Charitable groups use the Fair as a major fundraising time, and on average over $750,000 is raised during the Fair’s run.

Get Your Favorite, But Try Something New, Too!

My favorite booth I tried on Preview Night was new to me: the Harvest Christian Fellowships mini pancakes booth was incredible! The pancakes were fluffy and hot, and the berry topping I chose was the perfect amount of sweet and rich. The folks running the booth were darling, too.

Bring Cash For Certain Booths

While many of the booths accept cards (including the aforementioned pancake booth), some booths are still cash only, so you probably want to bring cash to avoid standing in the ATM line/ paying ATM fees.

Be Ready For A Line At Some Popular Booths

Some booths keep a pretty long line most of the time, but those booths are experts on getting folks through, too. A little patience and being ready with your order and your payment will make the experience a lot more enjoyable.

Delicious Local Food Booths at Lubbock’s South Plains Fair 2026

A look at all the local food barns, booths, and stalls at the 2026 South Plains Fair. These all benefit local charities, sports orginzations, and churches. Note: Some booths were not yet open because it was early on preview night.
