Lubbock Stabbing Suspect Turns Himself In
The suspect in a fatal stabbing that happened the night of Sunday, November 29th, 2020 in Central Lubbock has turned himself in.
Lubbock Police responded to the stabbing at around 11:15 p.m. KAMC News reports it happened in the 4600 block of 50th Street. Police responded after reports of a civil disturbance.
Police say that there was a dispute over damaged property, which led to someone getting stabbed. KFYO News spoke with someone with knowledge of the incident who spoke on condition of anonymity that the victim was visiting a tenant's apartment when he was stabbed by another non-tenant. Further details concerning the actual incident have yet to be released to the public by police.
The victim was identified later as 54-year-old Eddie Pair. Pair's relationship to the suspect has yet to be clarified. He was transported to University Medical Center by EMS and was later pronounced dead.
A murder warrant was issued for 19-year-old Ethan Isaiah Scott, who is reported to have turned himself into police at around 2 p.m. the day after, Monday, November 30th.
He was taken into custody without incident, and his bond has been set at $250,000.
This case remains under investigation by the Metro Special Crimes Unit.
Note: an earlier version of this post incorrectly said that both the victim and the suspect lived at the apartment where the stabbing took place. Neither is actually a tenant at the apartment complex.
