The Unofficial Personality Types Of Lubbock Residents

No matter where you go in our city, you'll see the same cast of characters over and over again. Each neighborhood, church, Friday night football game, and business has at LEAST one of each of these kinds of people. You might even recognize which one you are!

The Personality Types You'll Find Everywhere in Lubbock

The Cowboy

Whether they actually own a farm or just look like they do, you'll find a ton of cowboys in this town. Boots. Trucks. The whole 9 yards. They are everywhere, and we love them.

The Soccer Mom

There is no shortage of sports moms in Lubbock. Every weekend, they load up their SUVs and cart kids all over the place for tournaments. Snacks. Folding chairs. Visers. You know the type.

The Tech Fan

What percent of our population do you think falls into this personality type? I'm going with about 85%...if not more.

The Lake Person

They are always trying to drag you out to Buffalo Lake, where they live for a day of fishing and boozing. These people are fun. I actually work with one of them, and parties at his place are the best.

The Foodie

We've got TONS of foodies around here. There's even a whole Facebook group for them. They are serious about local Lubbock dining and always know the best place to get brisket, along with where you should NEVER go. They are super helpful when you need to pick a restaurant on a Friday night.

The Fitness Fanatic

There are some serious atheletes in Lubbock. You'll find them running along the side of the road and working all hours of the day and night at our local gyms, which are usually pretty packed. Also, we can't forget all the CrossFit people who are constantly trying to convince you to come work out with them. (No thanks. I like Netflix and snacks more than abs.)

The Neighborhood Mayors

Every part of town has a different "local celebrity" who kind of speaks for the area. Who knows how it happens, it just does.

The Homebody

A lot of us really prefer our privacy and sticking close to home. Can you really blame us? Especially when it's a million degrees outside. I fit right into this category very nicely. There's always great air conditioning there...

The Weekend Griller

We all know someone who has a BBQ nearly every weekend. These people are fun, but don't say you're going and then pull out at the last minute. That's a good way to never get invited again... They take those parties pretty seriously, especially when you were supposed to bring the poppers.
