SMōK’D Pit Barbeque is a new name in the Lubbock barbeque game, but it's brought to us by very familiar faces: the folks at United Supermarkets.

SMōK’D Pit Barbeque launched today at United at 114th & Slide. Previously, Evie Mae's Barbeque was served there.

In addition to the United at 114th & Slide, SMōK’D Pit Barbeque will be the featured barbeque brand for the newest locations of Market Street in Amarillo, Texas, and Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

So what will SMōK’D Pit Barbeque be like?

From a United Family Press Release:

“Barbecue is engrained in the culture of West Texas,” said Mark Yowell, regional vice president for The United Family. “We believe that our new brand SMōK’D will live up to the traditions of real Texas BBQ. From brisket to ribs, we will produce a quality product for a reasonable price. We can’t wait for guests to try the SMōK’D experience.”

What's on the menu?

Brisket, burnt ends (my favorite), turkey, pulled pork, sausage, ribs, and chicken. Additionally, SMōK’D Pit Barbeque will offer several sides and desserts.

And since it's inside United, you can always grab whatever else you would like to have with your meal. Want BBQ and sushi? You do you. I've done it before.

Full disclosure: I eat at Lubbock Uniteds and Market Streets a lot, so I may be biased, but I'm excited to try their new barbeque concept. I've never once gotten food, be it sushi, salad, or a chicken fried steak, that I didn't absolutely love. I already eat at United/ Market Street at least once a week, so this is another great option for me.
