Tacos & Tequila Music Festival was a big hit last year, with an absolutely fun line-up that saw Bowling For Soup, The Toadies, and Collective Soul, among others, play to a sea of attendees.

The people behind Tacos & Tequila promised an even bigger and better event for Tacos & Tequila 2023, and they delivered, particularly with headliner Incubus, who will be playing Lubbock for the very first time during the event on August 26th, inside the Lonestar Amphitheater (602 E 19th St). Also scheduled to play are Third Eye Blind, Badflower, and Paris Jackson. However, today (6/19/2023), they informed us that they are adding two bands to the line-up- Lost Hearts and the massively popular nu-metal band P.O.D.

BOOM, indeed.

The impact of P.O.D. on the nu-metal genre is hard to oversell- their album Satellite went triple platinum thanks to hits like "Alive" and "Youth of the Nation." Perhaps most interestingly, P.O.D. struck a beautiful balance between their principles (they are a Christian band) and their artistry. When so many others produced music that felt tepid or dated, P.O.D. created a fresh and interesting sound that transcended the religious persuasions of whoever was listening to it, without P.O.D. compromising their spiritual beliefs. Not only is that remarkable, but it's also beautiful.

Tickets for Tacos & Tequila 2 are available through their website, or at Ralph's Records (82nd & Indiana). In addition to this solid and deep line up, there will be, of course, margaritas and other drinks available at multiple bars,  and tacos from local food trucks available for purchase.

It'll make you "feel so alive."
