Maxey Park Hosting Free Fishing Event for Kids
Maxey Park is hosting "KidsFish" this weekend and everyone in your family is invited to fish from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. on April 24th for free. There's no fishing license required to join in on this weekend's fun.
The lake will be stocked full of catfish provided by funding from the Texas Game Warden Association, so there will be plenty of opportunity for kiddos and new fishers to catch a big one. There is also a wheelchair-accessible fishing area, as well as a playground at Maxey Park. Children of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in the fun.
Lunch will be provided at 11 a.m. All you need to bring is your family and your own fishing poles and tackle. They will also have a few poles available, but not enough for everyone. Families are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and sunscreen to ensure this is an awesome day for everyone there.
The weather this weekend will be absolutely beautiful and this event should make for a great way to spend Saturday with your family, kicked back in the breeze and reeling in the catfish. Nothing better than that.
Put that Netflix special on hold for the weekend, grab your kids and get out there for a fun and free day out of the house. We could all use a little fresh air after being cooped up inside for so long.
