Several parents of students at Monterey High School have been complaining on Facebook over the past week about the lack of restroom access at the school. Several of the bathrooms are currently out of commission due to alleged plumbing problems and it seems like it's caused a bit of fuss in the community.

Luckily, it looks like they will all be in working order soon enough. I contacted the office to ask why they were closed and if the issues were being addressed. I was told that several bathrooms are being repaired, but that they will be back to normal soon. They also told me that there are still bathrooms that are fully functional for students and staff to use.

Don't worry, guys! Everything will go back to normal soon enough. Although, it might be a good time to avoid Taco Bell for lunch.

Luckily, today, February 10, 2023, is a teacher workday, and the beginning of a 3-day weekend for students. Hopefully, that helps out with the lack of working toilets. Plumbing problems totally suck when they happen in your own home and I can only imagine what dealing with them in a huge high school with thousands of students is like. Can't be fun for anyone.

Anyway, sit tight, and try to be patient. They are working hard toward fixing the problems ASAP. It's also worth remembering that Monterey High School has been around since 1955. Things are bound to break here and there. They've probably had to make several updates and adjustments to keep things running smoothly for students and staff over the years.
