This was originally going to be a post about what song should the Red Raiders on in the third quarter (a question asked by the coach) then I realized something. My question is:  is the coach making the best Texas Tech team possible or just remaking them into the image of his old team(s)?  Read more after the break.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter how we get to a winning season, as long as we get there.  What's funny to me is that we pay dinosaur dollars for coaches that may just be doing the same thing over and over. You might answer, if it works why change it? And I would answer, why not just hire a high school coach to copy everything the coach did?

From institute a "pump up" song to white helmets to the Raider walk, these are all other peoples traditions that we are adopting as our own. Where is something that says "WE ARE TEXAS TECH"?  The only answer I can give you is the Masked Rider (which for the record is a great representation of the program).

At the end of the day it probably doesn't matter. I'm more of a casual fan now. I just think some of the uniqueness and fun that was Texas Tech football is gone. I don't think we'll ever be the first choice for the best recruits, and if we aren't the first choice, and we're doing what everybody else is going, we're never going to break out of the middle of the pack.

I'd love to have some REAL sports fans comment on my thoughts?  It's a simple question, do you think Coach Tuberville is a "One Trick Pony"?
