New Lubbock Gaming Store Is Bringing Back the Good Stuff
If you grew up in the era of blowing into your Nintendo cartridges and arguing over whose turn it was to play next, there's a new store in Lubbock that might send you straight back to the good old days.

Nerd Pocket, located at 4130 34th Street, is a new gaming store that specializes in retro games, collectibles, consoles, and more. The store also buys, sells, and trades gaming items, giving Lubbock gamers a chance to hunt down those badass games they haven't seen in decades, or finally get rid of a console collecting dust in the closet.

Store manager Jenny Valdez says that the goal is much more than simply selling games.
"More than anything, we want Nerd Pocket to be a fun local store for Lubbock's gaming community."
And that's exactly the type of place it is. It's a place to introduce your old favorites to your kids, or just a great way to relive a little of your childhood nostalgia through games.
"Whether someone is a serious collector, wants to introduce their kids to the games they grew up with, or just wants to walk in and relive a bit of their childhood, we want there to be something here for them."

I can personally vouch for the selling experience there. I recently took them an Atari and a few games, and they gave me a great price for them. It was a super simple transaction. It was also great to know the system will go to someone who will really enjoy it instead of spending the rest of its life unused in a cabinet.

Nerd Pocket is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm and on Sundays from noon to 5 pm.
Stop by and check them out soon, and keep supporting small Lubbock businesses!
