NIGHTMARE FUEL: Texas Woman Bitten By Snake While on The Toilet

My morning show partner's number one irrational fear is that he will be bitten by a snake while sitting on the toilet. I can't wait to tell him it happened to someone here in Texas the other day. He's going to flip out.

A woman in Cedar Creek, near Bastrop, Texas, woke up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and got the surprise of her life. She didn't turn the lights on for her half-awake potty break, either. She sat down on the toilet and then suddenly felt something sharp on her leg...

She flipped on the lights and found a rat snake coiled up underneath the toilet seat.

Even though she was horrified, she knew she had to take a photo of the snake or nobody would ever believe her.

So, how did the snake get there? Did it come up through the drain, or is that just an urban legend?

The woman believes the snake got into her bathroom through a vent in the ceiling. Pest control professionals say it's VERY rare for a snake to come up through a drain system. Most of them have never encountered it happening, but they haven't completely ruled it out as something that could never happen.

So, a snake coming up through the drain and into your toilet bowl is as close to an urban legend as you can get...with a little wiggle room for miraculous occurrences...
