When a new restaurant comes to town, you probably have a lot of the same questions I do, particularly, "What makes this place any different than what we already have?" It takes a lot of guts and heart to open an eatery in such a highly competitive place as Lubbock, but to succeed, you also need to stand out with service, quality, and uniqueness.

A Former Favorite In Hobbs Makes The Move To Lubbock

While we were sad to see El Mitote call it quits, we now know that space (4525 Milwaukee Ave, Suite 600) will be occupied by a former Hobbs restaurant called Outlaws. So what is Outlaws all about? I think it's safe to draw some conclusions about this new space based on what they did before.

Outlaws: Seafood, Pasta, Steaks And A BIG Menu

Outlaws may trim down their menu, especially as they just get started here in Lubbock. However, looking at their menu from the Hobbs location, it is full of choices. And yes, it's pretty unique!

I've always felt like Lubbock doesn't have enough Italian places (although the places we do have are wonderful, like Italian Garden, Orlando's, and Stella's). Outlaws has several pasta dishes. So, When Is Outlaws Opening?

No official date yet, but Outlaws did provide a nice statement about the work they are putting in to get there:

We’re working hard to get our doors open as quickly as we can, and we just want to be real with you all we’re building this with what we have. It may not be perfect or fully remodeled from day one, but it will be built with heart, passion, and a whole lot of love for great food and great people.
Our goal is to grow with this community, and with your support, we look forward to reinvesting back into Outlaws to continue improving, remodeling, and creating something special for Lubbock.

Welcome to Lubbock, Outlaws!
