Police Investigate Early Morning Stabbing in North Lubbock
Monday morning (July 2), Lubbock police were called out to McDonald’s at 102 North University for what may have been an attempted homicide.
According to the Lubbock Police Department, one person there had multiple stab wounds and was promptly taken to University Medical Center for treatment.
The reported incident occurred just before 12:45 a.m.
Investigators suspect the assault began or took place at the Acacia Mobile Home Park at 2317 Auburn Street, just blocks away from the McDonald’s where the victim was found by police. The victim is said to have escaped on foot and called for help at the McDonald’s.
The fast food restaurant’s drive-thru was reportedly shut down after the incident, and police taped off a portion of the nearby Amigo’s parking lot and a nearby alley.
KAMC News reports the victim's injuries are life-threatening, but say police are unsure what weapon was used to cause the injuries.
As of Monday morning, no official suspects have been named and no arrests have been made, but investigators have interviewed two people of potential interest in the case.
