Man Assaults Lubbock Police Officer Who Responded to Burglary
Sunday morning just after 2:20 a.m., a Lubbock man was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer.
KAMC News reports officers were called out on the report of a burglary in progress and they pursued the suspect traveling in a vehicle to a residence in North Lubbock.
The suspect eventually exited the vehicle and refused to obey police commands before running into a residence.
Police attempted to follow the suspect inside the house, but they were stopped by a second resident who reportedly punched an officer in the face.
Fabian Ramirez (55) was arrested and charged with assault on a public servant and interference with public duties. Diane Ramirez (47) was also arrested and charged with interference with public duties. The initial suspect, Isaiah Hernandez (30) was eventually arrested and charged with evading arrest.
