The Fredericksburg Texas Testicle Festival is scheduled for August 10th and August 31st and features all-you-can-Rocky Mountain oysters, live music, and adult beverages.

Not familiar with Rocky Mountain oysters? They're deep-fried bull testicles.

If you find the idea of munching on fried bull nuts off-putting, don't worry. The festival also offers burgers, ribs, sandwiches, steaks, and other yummy treats you might find more appealing. I've never had the chance to eat deep-fried bull balls, but I've heard they're surprisingly tasty.

Testicle festivals are much more common than I realized. There are festivals similar to this one all over the world. Whether deep-fried, sauteed, fricasseed, roasted, or poached, bull testicles have some big-time fans. They were originally a late-spring seasonal specialty, but nowadays you buy them year-round. You'll generally find them in the frozen food section of your local supermarket.

According to their website, tickets to the festival range between $10 and $65 and it's located at 7905 Old San Antonio Road in Fredericksburg, Texas.

Have you ever been to a testicle festival? Got any great recipes for bull balls? I'd love to hear from you! Drop me a comment below this article, or send me an email at Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com and tell me how you feel about them.

Maybe I'll add them to my grocery list sometime...but only if YOU cook them for me. I'm not sure how I feel about touching them raw...

(Everything reminds me of him...*sigh*)
