Strange Texas Laws That Will Make You Do A Double Take
Some head-scratchingly ridiculous laws in Texas can leave you feeling...well...confused. From outlawing eating certain snacks in certain places, or regulating how you wear your boots (not joking), the Lone Star State has a handful of bizarre laws that make you wonder if lawmakers are smoking more than cigarettes. Here are five of the most ridiculous, over-the-top laws that will leave you saying, "Bless their little pea pickin' hearts."
Let's get into it.
Oh, and also, I want to point out that most of these laws are laughed at today, but that doesn't mean you won't come across a cop on a bad day. I think you're pretty safe, though.
3 Bizarre Texas Laws That Make Zero Sense
1. In LeFors, Texas, it's illegal to drink while standing. You can't take more than 3 drinks of an adult beverage while you're standing up. I can only speculate that this law was put into place because someone's uncle kept falling down and hurting himself.
2. In some Texas cities, back in the day, it was illegal to sell Limburger cheese on Sundays. Why? Welp, according to The World on Cheese, a ban on Limburger cheese was declared back in 1902. But, honestly, friends, that cheese is pretty stinky. We are better off without it.
3. Apparently, it's against the law to use a feather duster to dust any of the public buildings in Texas. Like, wait, what?
