Lubbock's Salt By Angie Shuts Down, Reflects On Future Plans

For fine, upscale dining, Lubbock has a small but impressive selection of elegant eateries.

Claraboya. The Nicolette. Chez Sami. Las Brisas. These have been our Lubbock standards over the last few years.

There was one relative newcomer, too, Salt by Angie, which inhabited the historic Kress Building (1109 Broadway St. ) downtown after the departure of Burklee-Hill last summer.

Salt by Angie opened in March of this year and featured salads, grilled items, premium cuts of steak (including wagyu), oysters, and more. Salt by Angie also featured signature cocktails and an extensive mocktail menu.

Salt By Angie In Lubbock Closes Restaurant

Salt By Angie announced on Facebook the "incredibly difficult" decision to close the restaurant. However, this is not the end of Salt by Angie- as Chef Angie will continue to focus on curated catering, events, and competitions.

She is referring to the brick-and-mortar closure as less of an ending and more of a "hard pause" to regroup.

Who Is Chef Angie Ragan In Lubbock?

In case you were unfamiliar with Chef Angie, she is Angie Ragan, who was a semi-finalist on the first season of Next Level Chef, produced and judged by Chef Gordan Ramsey.

She made it an impressive 10 episodes before being eliminated in this competition-style show, which aired on Fox.

We can't wait to see what Chef Angie cooks up next in her culinary adventures, and wish her the best of luck on her future endeavors.
