The Heart of Lubbock Neighborhood is getting a new Mexican food and Mexican snack eatery on 34th & X- and it even has a drive-thru!
La Linda Michoacana is hoping to open near the end of March, per a post on the 806 Eats Group. (FYI- Michoacana basically means "ice cream shop")
My daughter's friends parents are opening a Mexican ice cream and food place on 34th!Guillermo Leanos owner, is hoping to open by the end of March!!!Homemade ice cream, flamin' flautas, taco plates, Nachos Mexicana, Agus frescos, churro's and lots more!!!I included pictures of their menu board
They will have a drive thru!!
The menu is full of Mexican food and snack favorites- everything from savory favorites like tortas to shrimp cocktails, and sweet treats like churros, paletas, fresh fruit with candy, tajin and chamoy, and exciting especially for me- chocolate bananas. It also has American food favorites like hamburgers and milkshakes. And the ice cream is homemade- yum!
I frequently do prefer to sit and eat my special treats, which will be an option here, but sometimes you need your goodies on the go. I think the drive-thru option will be a popular one for just that reason.
If for some reason you have yet to try Mexican snack foods, do yourself a favor and venture out of your comfort zone. I am a particular fan of items like La Linda Michoacana's Sandia (watermelon) and Pina (pineapple) Locas; that is, fresh fruit paired with tajin, chamoy, and candies. Fruit and spice is so very, very nice. Also, any version of a "walking taco" is a good fit for me.
Here's a sneak peak of the inside of the eatery, and what their menu board will look like, so you can plan accordingly:
