Scott Stapp + Wife Jaclyn Expecting a Child
There's good news for Art of Anarchy frontman and solo artist Scott Stapp. The rocker and his wife Jaclyn revealed to People that they are expecting another child, with the due date coming around Thanksgiving.
"This is such a gift," Stapp told People. "We truly couldn't be happier or more excited." "This is a huge surprise, and a blessing, and a miracle," adds Jaclyn. "We thought we were done with diapers and pacifiers. This surprise fell into our lap, and we are just on cloud nine."
The baby comes after a rough patch for the couple. In 2014, Stapp famously suffered a very public meltdown before being diagnosed with bipolar disorder. After receiving treatment, the singer and his wife appeared on the VH1 series Couples Therapy as they attempted to rebound from Stapp's erratic behavior and struggles with sobriety. Stapp's personal battles found their way into the lyrical content he provided for Art of Anarchy's The Madness album, that was released earlier this year.
Speaking more about their pending bundle of joy, Stapp stated, "It’s amazing. We just bought a new home and moved in. We were getting settled, and then we found out about the baby. The kids were jumping up and down. It’s so cute to see them. Every day, our 7-year-old runs up to Jaclyn and puts his head on her belly and talks to the baby!"
The couple reportedly know the sex of the baby, but are keeping that information to themselves. Meanwhile, Stapp, who has also played solo dates this year, says he's prepared for fatherhood once more and balancing it with his career. “I’ll be home a lot, writing music. So I can spend time with the baby every day," says the singer. "I’m really proud of the fact that I’m a hands-on dad. Changing diapers, getting up at night, giving the baby a bath, all of that. I love that role of being a dad.”
The child will be the singer's fourth. He has an 18-year-old son Jagger from a previous marriage, as well as a 10-year-old daughter Milan and 7-year-old son Daniel.
