Seriously? Snow May Be Headed To The Texas Panhandle…
Just when you were ready to stash away your winter wardrobe, a late-season snowfall seems to be on its way to the Texas Panhandle. The National Weather Service indicated that we can expect to see some precipitation beginning Friday, through the weekend, and snow is a possibility depending on how much cold air comes out way.
Early reports show a 60% chance of wet weather on Friday during the day and an 80% chance of it in the evening. On top of that, it looks like it's going to get all the way down into the 20s in some areas.
This wouldn't be the first time we've seen snow in April. There was a wild winter storm in Galveston in April of 2007.
I was actually kind of annoyed we didn't see much snow at all this year in Lubbock. It was mainly just ice and slush that melted before the day ended. I'm kind of stoked at the prospect of a little winter flurry. It won't be long before the state turns into hell on earth. I'd pick a little snow over extreme heat any day...
What are you going to do if we see snow?
Might be time to grab up some cocoa and use up the rest of the wood piled up by your back door and get your fireplace going one last time before the season ends. My pal up in Minnesota thinks it's cute when we all shiver and run our heaters full blast in 40 and 50 degree weather, but hey, any excuse is a good excuse to cuddle up with your fam. Stay warm!
