Several House Fires Occurred Over the Weekend, One Death Reported
Several separate fires broke out across the city of Lubbock over the weekend.
A house fire on Monday, October 18th in Central Lubbock resulted in the death of one and their pet. Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to the blaze at around 1:30 a.m. near 47th Street and Avenue X.
Upon arrival, two people were taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries and another was pronounced dead at the scene. EverythingLubbock reports one of the residents went back into the blaze to rescue a dog but was unable to escape.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A house fire on Friday, October 15th resulted in no injuries. Lubbock Fire Crews responded to a structure fire around 8:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of 14th Street.
The home was known to be vacant and officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
Another house fire occurred Monday morning at a apartment complex in Central Lubbock. Crews responded to the blaze near 34th Street and University Avenue. The fire was contained to one part of the Siena Townhomes at O'Neil Terrace.
No injuries were reported but three individuals were displaced due to the fire. The fire remains under investigation.
