Shots Fired Near Overton Elementary School in Lubbock

Lubbock Police responded to a call of shots-fired near Overton Elementary School on Friday, September 9th.

The call came in a bit after 3:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of 31st Street. The Lubbock Police Department has said that the incident had no connection Overton Elementary and there was not an active shooter situation at Overton.

School had already been let out for the day when the call came in. However, some staff and children were still on the property and heard the shots, so they were taken back into the building as a precaution.
