The Lubbock Fire Department is reminding residents that smoke may be seen in North Lubbock while a prescribed burn is conducted at the Lubbock Lake Landmark from Wednesday, July 24th to Friday, July 26th.

Each day, the burning will begin around noon and last until sunset. Residents who see smoke on the northwest side of town are likely seeing the prescribed burn at the Lubbock Lake Landmark and are urged not to panic.

However, if you see smoke anywhere at any time, you're still encouraged to call the fire department to make a report.
