Charlene is my type of dog. Such a sweet face and happy demeanor. Soulful eyes and a pretty coat. And those ears? Simply precious. From the folks at the Lubbock Animal Shelter (3323 SE Loop 289):

Charlene is a 4 year old female Pit Bull who has been with us for 39 days. She is super duper sweet and has a smile that will melt your heart. She is up to date on all her shots, fixed, and microchipped.

Summertime is a great time to bond with dog and you and Charlene could have amazing doggy dates. One of my favorite things to do on a summer day is to walk my dog around the park and watch the sunset. She seems to like it too. And I just know Charlene would as well.

Adopting from the Lubbock Animal Shelter is such a smart choice. Your pet will be up-to-date on shots, spayed or neutered, and microchipped, which saves you a ton on vetting. Staff and volunteers get to know the animal's demeanor so you know if your personalities align, but remember: you can always foster-to-adopt to be sure.

If you can't adopt right now, volunteering is a great way to get your dose of puppy (or kitty) love. Here's some details on how to get involved:

You can volunteer at LAS, we have many ways to help us help animals!! We can use any ages or any skill set, call 775-2057 for more information, or our volunteer coordinator at 806-928-7605.

We hold Volunteer Orientation every other Thursday @ 5:30pm.

Any child under the age of 14 will need to have a parent or guardian present at all times.

The Lubbock Animal Shelter and adoption center is open Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM.
