After the permanent closure of most of Lubbock’s public pools, many families were frustrated with the unknown of when they would have new fun summer options for their kids.

This topic came up on the RockShow, and I though I'd go with it a little bit.  Lubbock really doesn't have an identity.  Some people want to try to make Lubbock a "music" destination, but it has not worked before and I don't see any reason why it would now.  Plus, the "music" destination think pretty much puts you in bars and other places where kids are not necessarily welcome.
