Texans Beware: Boot Dryer Recalled, Could Set Boots On Fire

We Texans love our boots. They are a long-term investment, both in price tag and breaking them in. We didn't get those blisters for nothing.

So I imagine you'd rather your boots didn't catch on fire- or anything near them for that matter.

A boot dryer/ sanitizer has been recalled due to a circuit problem that could cause a fire. I love my Tecovas too much to risk that.

According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, OdorStop Boot and Shoe Dryers and Deodorizers have been recalled.

The manufacturing defect is that the "heat or ozone on-off switch can short circuit, resulting in arcing, posing a fire hazard."

The product was sold online at OdorStop.com, Lowes.com, Amazon.com,  Globalindustrial.com, and webrestaurantstore.com from December 2018 through October 2023.

The product ranged in cost from $100 to $130 and included model numbers OSOBSDD2 and OSOBSDD.

If you have one of these boot dryers, discontinue use immediately.
