Have you ever tried to break a Guinness World Record?

That was pretty much my goal when I was a little kid. My brother and I used to read through the Guinness Book of World Records every year and try our luck at one. We were never successful, but we still had fun.

Texans broke some of the coolest and strangest world records this year!

Beyonce had a fantastic year of record-breaking in 2024. She set the record for Most Grammy Nominations, Most Grammy Nominancats for Record of The Year, Most Grammy nominations for a female artist, Most Grammy nominations in a single year for a female artist, and First Black female artist to top Billboard's Hot County Songs Chart. That's pretty impressive! Way to go, Beyonce.

Louis Gibson of Texas broke a pretty amazing record. With a whopping 1,313, he holds the title for the most criminals positively identified due to the composites of a single artist.

On July 6th, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. won the most personal hygiene kits assembled in one hour, by putting together 8,500!

Tuan Tran "Sky" Le set the record for the most signatures on a car with 5,151

Capital One in Plano, Texas now holds the record for the most users to take an online financial literacy lesson in 24 hours with 1,812 test takers.

Travis Alfrey of Austin, Texas set the record for the largest collection of videogame kiosks with 100.

The title for the largest fruit display goes to El Rio Grande Latin Market. It weighs approximately 86,764 pounds.

The biggest dripping pendulum painting record was set by Cole Newman, at 2,210.4 square meters. He worked with a team of 20 others to set the record.

The biggest collection of Selena memorabilia is in Texas and was achieved by Andrew Longoria in Lake Jackson.

The biggest charcuterie board on record was set by Central Market in Austin last September. It weighs 1,032 pounds and 0.4 ounces.

Ethan Vidrine from Fort Work set the record for the fastest time to eat a muffin. He ate the muffin in 10.68 seconds,

The fastest time to eat 6 glazed donuts was set in Forth Worth by Ethan Vidrine, too. He's a donut man as much as he is a muffin man!

The fastest half marathon while wearing a pair of handcuffs was set by TaMar Hicks in Forth Worth at 1 hour and 20 minutes.

The longest leather belt on record was set by Bryan Sosack of Fort Worth. The belt was 829 feet and 6.72 inches long. According to the record, the belt used nearly three whole cowhides.

Maryann Kozlowski broke the Guinness Record for the longest female survivor of an artificial double hard valve replacement.

The highest score on record for NES Tetris was set by a Texan named Andrew Artiaga from Fort Worth. He scored 8,952,432 points to take that title.

The widest tongue for a female was set by Brittany Lacayo. Her tongue is 3.11 inches wide.
