HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS - A judge doubled the bond from $250,000 to $500,000 for 34-year-old Chance Chavez, who is accused of beating his wife to death with a clothing iron and dumping her 4 dogs on the side of the highway.

Investigators found Kirsten Chavez deceased in her home on Emma Forest Street on March 12th just before 8 am, after neighbors called the authorities to report her husband Chance Chavez rang their doorbell, covered in blood.

Chance told the neighbors there had been a tragic occurrence at his home.

Police reported Chavez was incoherent and that they had a difficult time gathering information from him as to what had happened. Blood was present on his clothing, legs, and arms.

One named "Peaches" was unfortunately discovered deceased. An additional investigation is currently underway for the death of Peaches.

KPRC reported the family of Kristen Chavez hoped Chance would not receive bond at all, but the judge instead doubled it to half a million dollars.
