Texas Rainfall Ahead: Creative Ways To Keep Kids Engaged

The forecast shows Texas is in for a doozy next week. Lots of rain!

I love rainy days in Lubbock, and I especially enjoyed them as a kid. My friends and I used to head over to Higginbotham Lake, wade through the nasty flooding, and try to catch fish in plastic bread bags, which probably wasn't the safest idea...

I didn't know back then just how disgusting Playa Lakes were. Barf.

If you want to keep your kids away from the kind of yucky tomfoolery my friends and I got into during rainy days, I've got some better suggestions that don't involve stripping down to your wet undies before coming back inside the house!

...and, they won't cost you a dime!

If all else fails, there's always coloring.

I happen to ADORE art by kiddos. I have tons of it in my office at work. If you can't think of anything else to do, you could always have them draw something for me! I'll hang it up! I promise!
