Texas’ Sales Tax-Free Weekend Comes Just in Time for the First Day of School
This weekend, August 9th through 11th, is the annual back-to-school sales tax holiday meant to help save money when buying certain items, such as school supplies, backpacks and uniforms.
Purchases must be made from a Texas store or an online retailer doing business in Texas. Only qualifying items will be exempt from sales tax if they are sold for less than $100. Most school supplies and clothing can be bought tax-free during the holiday.
More information can be found online at the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts website.
