At what point do you give up seeking justice for a terrible crime? Here in Texas, even if years have passed, law enforcement still pursues the most heinous criminals.

Because it's the right thing to do.

The Success Of The Texas Most Wanted List

Texas has seen tremendous success with its Top Ten Most Wanted List. The purpose of the list is to raise public awareness of these potentially dangerous individuals, not only so they can be caught, but also so people can protect themselves.

The rewards system incentivizes anyone who may be on the fence about reporting these individuals, and the anonymous tip system keeps the informant safe.

It is important to note that the people who make the Top Ten list are wanted for serious crimes like murder, sexual assault, and crimes against children. The people who end up on the list are there because there is a truly legitimate concern that they could hurt other people.

Longest Offenders on The Texas Most Wanted List

Even though Most Wanted Lists are effective, some criminals still slip through the cracks. They could be living somewhere remote, in another country, or even dead. When a fugitive has been missing for quite some time, they can end up on the Texas Still Wanted List.

However, that doesn't mean Texas gives up the hunt. And out there, someone knows something that could either bring these men* to justice, or at least close the case file if they have since died.

*There is only one woman on the Texas Still Wanted List, but she hasn't been on the run quite as long as the men we feature here. However, her story is interesting; we have more about her here:
