Texas Tech University has announced details for this year's Carol of Lights ceremony.

A favorite tradition in Lubbock and Texas Tech University, this year's Carol of Lights is set for Friday, November 30th, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. This is an annual event that thousands attend and never forget and this will be the 60th year for the Carol of Lights.

Over 25,000 lights will be turned on during the ceremony and a 38-foot tall Christmas tree will be lit up just west of the Texas Tech seal on campus.

According to a press release from Texas Tech University, the Carillon Concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Administration Building West Tower. At 7 p.m. the Carol of Lights begins, with the Saddle Tramps and Masked Rider's Torch Light Processional.

From 8-10 p.m. a Carol Concert will happen at the Hemmle Recital Hall on the Texas Tech campus. The concert is free and open to the public, and cookies along with hot chocolate will be served after.

The lights will be turned on each night after around dusk until midnight until January 2, 2019.
