Texas Tech Football will be honoring former staff member Tommy McVay during the entire 2020 season.

McVay, who passed away at the age of 76 on August 13th, is being honored with a memorial sticker on the Red Raiders' helmets for the whole season.

You can see the memorial sticker to the right of the helmet stripe. Here's another look:

McVay was the Director of Football Operations for the Red Raiders from the 1997-2019. seasons. The 2020 season would have been his 24th with the team. McVay worked with head coaches Spike Dykes, Mike Leach, Tommy Tuberville, Kliff Kingsbury and Matt Wells. He's also credited with convincing Leach to recruit inside receiver Wes Welker to Texas Tech.

Starting quarterback Alan Bowman also honored McVay during Saturday's game with special cleats adorned with the phrase, "RIP T-MAC" and a stylized drawing of the late icon wearing his standard sunglasses:
