Everyone is probably familiar with the quote from the poem, "Casey at the Bat," "there's no joy in Mudville tonight."

I have a feeling Mudville would have been a better place to be this weekend than the Driver residence.

News broke early Friday morning that Pittsburgh Steelers strong safety Troy Polamalu had officially announced his retirement.

The reaction around here was an immediate Nooooooooo-followed by some rather colorful language by a normally articulate female.

The rest of the day (and weekend for that matter) any time someone brought the announcement up, I thought I was living with Linda Blair's character Regan from the Exorcist- complete with head spinning and pea soup!

Even though I'm a die hard Titians fan, I have to say Polamalu has contributed to some of the most amazing plays ever made in NFL history.

Do me (and yourself) a favor, if you run into Linda Blair, aka Regan, do not bring up Polamalu, just slowly back away while throwing holy water at her and asking for her to please release my Woodmaker.
