From Sweet Pancakes To Wandering Peacocks, Lubbock Awaits
Lubbock may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of where to spend a perfect day, but that's just because you haven't looked close enough. Between magnificent sunrises, hidden breakfast gems, quirky stores, and live music, there's no better place to enjoy a fantastic day. Whether you're trying to fall in love with your hometown all over again or make the most of a trip to the Hub City, here's how to spend one awesome day in Lubbock from breakfast till bedtime.
The Best Lubbock Mornings Begin With Breakfast
Hop out of bed, brush those pearly whites, and grab a bite at Lubbock's Breakfast House. I highly recommend the sweet potato pancakes. They are SO good. They've also got a delicious Eggs Benedict. I love taking guests to breakfast at Lubbock's Breakfast House. They are always impressed with the service and the food.
Catch An Early Movie For Cheap
Check out a morning movie at Premier Cinemas for CHEAP. Plus, there won't be many people around. You almost always have the theater to yourself. Watch a movie for less than 10 dollars while you digest your breakfast, and since Premier is located in the South Plains Mall, you're in the perfect place to do a little shopping afterward. Lubbock may be small, but we still have most of the big fancy stores you find in Dallas. Our mall also has great spots to grab a snack if you get peckish before lunch.
Lunchtime in Lubbock: A Sacred Occasion
It's going to be hard to choose where to eat lunch. Lubbock is known for some incredible restaurants. I always tell newcomers (and locals) to eat at Bangkok Thai Restaurant. The tiny building is unassuming, and some people have lived here their entire lives and never been! Don't miss out on the best Thai food in town! I love eating inside the restaurant because you have access to more of those little crunchy things that come with your food, AND the little sauce bar with spicy sauces to add to your meal. But you can always grab it to go if it's busy, and enjoy your meal in a nearby park.

Grab A Coffee To Keep You Going
After dining at Bangkok Thai Restaurant, you're going to want a nap, but don't give in! Instead, head over to J&B Coffee for the best cup of joe in town. You can sit inside or outside, depending on how bad the sun wants us to suffer that day. Grab a local paper and check out fun things to do around town while you enjoy a cold brew or a latte. You might even find room in your tummy for a tasty little pastry. If you can squeeze one of those bad boys in, do it.
Dinner With Peacocks
Escondido Grill is a whimsical restaurant located at Spirit Ranch, where you can have dinner while peacocks wander around your table! It's a beautiful location. I grew up going there all the time, back when it was the County Line Restaurant. My uncle was the manager. It's magical out there, and it looks nothing like the rest of Lubbock. It's truly a hidden gem, and well worth the 10 or 12-minute drive from town.
