The roads in Lubbock could definitely be worse, but some areas seem pretty overlooked. You might think your block has some issues, but have you ever seen the pothole located at Owen Street and Avenue D? It's an exquisite specimen. The pothole's pothole. It's something else.

I don't even know if we should really call it a pothole. It's more like a kiddie pool in the middle of the road, waiting for unsuspecting drivers to completely wreck shop. It could do some serious damage to your car if you caught it the wrong way.

Some of the lower-income and more rural areas of Lubbock look downright pitiful. It seems like there are just too many holes and not enough hands to fix them all. I'm not exactly sure why it takes so long to deal with them. Sometimes you just want to go out and fix them yourself. Why would anyone ever want to move to one of these struggling neighborhoods and help to make them better when they have to deal with garbage like this? This is absurd.

Imagine bottoming out on that in the middle of the night, or losing a tire or two. Someone needs to get out there and fix that friggin' spot. We've got to take better care of this city. If you see a pothole, please report it to 3-1-1 so that it can be added to the long list of places that need some TLC.
