Japan House is an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant located outside of the Dallas-Fort Worth area in North Richland Hills, Texas.

I came across the restaurant on Tiktok, and everything from the building design to the decor is aimed at making you feel like you're actually in Japan. You pay $29 dollars per person for all-you-can-eat sushi, ramen, sashimi, hibachi and more. But the really fun thing about it is the adorable cat robot waiters that bring you your food.

Despite all these features which sound like a lot of fun, many people in the TikTok comments had some issues with the place.

There were quite a few commenters saying that they had tried Japan House and were disappointed with the quality of the food. They claimed the fish wasn’t fresh and that it wasn’t worth the price. They also mentioned how busy the restaurant was and that it's not unusual to wait around an hour for a table. The long wait, price, and allegedly non-fresh fish led many people to say it’s just not worth it.

While some commenters didn’t like Japan House, there were still plenty of people talking about how it’s a cool experience and that they definitely suggest trying it out. I think it's a little unreasonable to expect extremely fresh fish in a landlocked city and paying $30 for all-you-can-eat sushi isn’t a bad price, so I don't know how valid the complaints are. However, I would have to try it out myself to really form an opinion.

Despite some people’s complaints, I would love to try Japan House if I’m ever in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. It seems like a fun and unique experience that isn’t available in many places around Texas or the U.S. in general.
