Thor: Ragnarok changes the game for the entire Asgard family. Hela, goddess of death, attacks the entire realm (and might succeed in destroying it), Thor gets booted off into the multiverse and lands on a hellish gladiator planet, and he and the Hulk, his former teammate, are pitted against each other in an arena. Thor also loses his hair, his flowy cape, and — gasp — his hammer!

We see it happen right at the beginning of the trailers, when Hela (Cate Blanchett) crushes Thor’s trusty weapon with just one hand. But is there a chance that the God of Thunder might get his hammer back? A new behind-the-scenes video seems to say yes.

When Entertainment Tonight visited the Ragnarok set to talk Nordic gods and workout schedules, the short video they cut together includes a pretty telling clue. At about 00:17 in the video above, you can see Thor, now short-haired (which means this takes place sometime later in the story) reaching out as if to grab Mjolnir. Except… Mjolnir’s gone, right? Right?

This isn’t the first time we’ve encountered Schrödinger’s Mjolnir: a few months ago, Mew-Mew crashed one of the Russo brothers’ Instagrams from the Avengers: Infinity War set, which either means that they were playing around with props one day, or Thor gets his mojo back in time to save his buddies from Thanos. Things in the Marvel universe, once lost, do have a knack for coming back, so we’ll have to see if Mjolnir is one of them. You can’t really have Thor without the hammer.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters November 3.
