A few traffic accidents have occurred over the past week.


First responders were called to the scene of a crash on Thursday, November 4th, along a stretch of the South Loop.

Lubbock Police, Lubbock Fire Rescue, and EMS responded to the wreck just after 8 a.m. near South Loop 289 just west of Interstate 27. A pickup truck high-centered in the westbound median but it’s unclear what led to the crash.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and find alternate routes.


Lubbock Police are continuing an investigation into a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on Tuesday, November 2nd.

Officers responded to the crash around 5:40 p.m. in the 3800 block of the Marsha Sharp Freeway westbound access road. Initial reports say a pedestrian's vehicle had broken down, and while attempted to cross the access road, was struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The names of the pedestrian and driver of the vehicle have not been released.


Minor injuries were reported in an officer-involved crash that occurred on Monday, November 1st.

Authorities say the crash happened at approximately 7:45 a.m. near 74th Street and University Avenue. An initial investigation says a vehicle rear-ended a patrol car resulting in both vehicles being towed from the scene.
